Self-straightening footrest

If you spent most of your day in your powerchair you would want it to be comfortable! This is why all our customers seats are tailor-made to their individual needs. But this is not the end of the story - the rest of the chair has to complement it. Because our powerchairs allow you to go all the way down to the floor, the seat must be comfortable to sit and drive in this position as well. This is where our self-straightening footrest comes in. It guides your legs down, readjusting itself when it reaches the floor which allows your feet to extend out automatically without any need of a button or someone to do it for you. Meanwhile the backs of your legs are still well-supported and can be protected as much as necessary to the side or with footstraps. This not only allows you to sit comfortably on the floor, it also allows you to shift your position and relieve pressure.

Another benefit of this particular footrest is that it gives people with extensor spasms some control over involuntary leg movements. The movement of your leg will cause the footrest to extend with it, leaving your feet on the footrest. This will tend to restrict the extension and guide your legs back to a normal position, minimising the disturbance to your intended activity.
