The driving philosophy behind the design of the SnapDragon and Dragon is to make a range of powerchairs that react and feel like an extension of the user's body and personality, rather than a machine that is between the user and the world.
A key means of achieving this is to position the centre of the perception of the driver at the centre of movement of the chair. This means that it is much more intuitive to drive it - your brain does not need to translate your position with respect to the chair. You simply move where you want to be. This makes it so much easier for non-mobile and often non-verbal toddlers to use dragonmobility chairs - something that we believe is vital to help prevent the secondary developmental delays caused by physical disability.
Secondly, the seat position presents the user at the front of the powerbase. The user is less aware of the machinery behind, and the people he or she meets see the person first. It puts you in more direct contact with your environment - so that you can interact directly with the world around you.
Thirdly, you can choose the colour to suit your personality - grey or black for a chair that 'disappears', or a vibrant colour to make your own fashion statement!
